Rabobank Hockey World Cup

Jeugdsportfonds

Hockey is a growth sport in the Netherlands and every year thousands of Dutch children sign up to one of the country’s 320 hockey clubs. But not every child is lucky enough to be able to take part – because their families simply can’t afford it. That is why the Dutch men’s and women’s national teams are supporting the Jeugdsportfonds, a registered charity which raises money to pay for less fortunate children to take part in the sport of their dreams.

What does the Jeugdsportfonds do?

The Jeugdsportfonds pays for children aged four to 18 and from families of limited means to join a sports club. Just €250 is enough to enable a child to take part in the sport of their choice for a year. The national teams and the KNHB are supporting the Jeugdsportfonds up to and including the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

What is the goal?

All Dutch hockey players – nearly 240,000 of them – are being urged to take part in a special campaign around the Rabobank Hockey World Cup to raise money for the charity. The target is to ensure at least 2,014 children can join a sports club by the end of the year.

All contributions are welcome

Although international visitors will not be able to take part in the local campaigns, your support would still be very much appreciated. Contact Macha van der Vaart (+31 30 75 13 446 or ) to find out how you can help make a child’s sporting ambitions come true.
