German and English men qualify

Both the German and the English mens' teams have guaranteed their places at next year’s Rabobank Hockey World Cup after reaching the semi-finals of the third round Hockey World League in Malaysia. The first three teams in the third round Hockey World League tournament qualify automatically for the World Cup. The fourth place goes to the best placed runner-up in either the Rotterdam or Malaysia third round event. With Germany’s (1) and England's (4) world ranking being higher than that of New Zealand (6) - who finished fourth in Rotterdam –  their safe place at the World Cup is assured.

Germany reached the semi-finals with a 6-0 win over host nation Malaysia. England defeated Japan 5-0 in the quarter finals.
