The match schedule for the Rabobank Hockey World Cup 2014 has been announced by FIH director Kelly Fairweather at the Kyocera Stadium in The Hague. The opening match on Saturday, May 31 will take place between Australia, ranked number one in the world, and Malaysia. The Dutch women’s team, also ranked number one, will take on Japan that evening (19.45). The Dutch men play against Argentina on Sunday, June 1 (16.00).

Epic clashes
FIH CEO Kelly Fairweather: “Epic clashes are expected, in a massive hockey nation. With 120 days to go, the tournament really starts to come alive. Hockey fans all over the world can plan their diaries whilst players and coaches focus their minds. This World Cup promises to be our biggest yet”.
Deputy Mayor Karsten Klein, The Hague’s alderman for Youth, Welfare and Sport has stated that he is looking forward to the Rabobank Hockey World Cup being held at The Hague: “This event is one of the biggest sporting events in the history of The Hague. It’s an honor to welcome all visitors in The Hague”.
