There is a good chance that Moritz Fürste will join the German men’s team at the Rabobank Hockey World Cup after all. Fürste is recovering so well from a knee injury that he may be fit enough to take part, according to newspaper Hamburger Abendblatt.
The 29-year-old midfielder, who tore a posterior right knee ligament on March 5 and was ruled out of the tournament, will start training next week, beginning with short sprints and other simple exercises. After a week, his medical team will decide if his knee can take the strain of full training and if he is up to body contact. ‘If everything goes well, then I can go to the World Cup,’ Fürste told the paper.
