The International Hockey Federation (FIH), the world governing body for the sport of hockey, is looking forward to a fantastic event: Rabobank Hockey World Cup 2014. The FIH is committed to encouraging, promoting, developing and controlling hockey at all levels all over the world. This is an exciting time for hockey. At the London Olympic Games in 2012, it was the third most popular spectator sport, based on ticket sales.
Now The Hague is preparing to host the biggest sports event of 2014 in the Netherlands: the Men’s and Women’s Rabobank Hockey World Cup. We are looking forward to a fantastic event with all those who are able to join us at the venue. We also look forward to a whole new level of event coverage, fan interaction and engagement around the globe through the concerted new and social media efforts of the FIH and KNHB.
There is no doubt that KNHB will stage an unforgettable double World Cup and a truly spectacular two-week hockey festival. We are looking forward to joining our Dutch hockey friends in The Hague next year!
