This is Korea

Both the Korean men’s and women’s teams are taking part in the World Cup. The women’s team has the honour of playing the first match of the tournament in the GreenFields Stadium, against Australia at 14.30 on Saturday, May 31. The Korean women won bronze in their first ever World Cup outing in 1990 in Sydney, but have been empty-handed since then. They are currently 8th in the world rankings.

Korean men
The Korean men have taken part in the previous five World Cups, coming fourth in 2002 and 2006. Currently seventh in the world rankings, Korea could surprise many this time round. Their first match is against New Zealand on Sunday, June 1 at 17.30.
