Judith Vandermeiren will miss this summer's World Cup in The Hague. The 19-year-old Belgian international has torn a knee ligament and is therefore out of the tournament, the Belgian national hockey association says on its website.

Vandermeiren is not the first player to be forced out of the World Cup through injury.  Last week it emerged German star player Moritz Fürste is also out with knee trouble.
