Rabobank Hockey World Cup

Australia vs Netherlands – Women 14 June 2014

“The final of the 2014 Rabobank Women’s Hockey World Cup saw reigning Olympic champions Netherlands take on Australia. The Dutch made a good start and had a few shots on target before they were awarded a penalty stroke in the 12th minute. Team captain Maartje Paumen stepped up and made no mistake to put her nation 1-0 ahead.

The Netherlands side were coping with the Australian offense and a counter attack brought the second goal. Kim Lammers, playing her last international game, finished inside the circle for a 2-0 lead in the 29th minute. The Dutch were relentless in the second half and launched an assault on goal. They forced a save from the Australian keeper and then Ellen Hoog hit the post with a fierce shot.

Australia never really got a foothold in the half and the Oranje held on to the 2-0 advantage to win the 2014 World Cup. Welcome to the FIH YouTube Channel where you can watch all the amazing skills, fearless keepers and incredible goals.
