Korea vs Germany – Women 13 June 2014

“The game to decide 7th place at the 2014 Rabobank Women’s Hockey World Cup saw Korea take on Germany. Kim Ok-ju gave world number eight Korea a surprise 1-0 lead in the 13th minute after a scramble in the circle.

It was 2-0 to Korea in the 31st minute when Han Hye-lyoung scored her first goal of the tournament. There were two goals in quick succession in the second half. First, Korea went 3-0 up through a field goal from Kim Jong-eun, and then Germany replied two minutes later with a penalty corner goal from Tina Bachmann.

Germany continued the fight back three minutes later from another penalty corner; this time Julia Muller scored to bring the score to 3-2. However, with four minutes left Korea increased their lead to 4-2 with a penalty corner scored by Cheon Seul-ki which was enough to secure 7th spot for Korea.
