The countdown has begun. It is just 100 days to the start of the Rabobank Hockey World Cup 2014. Preparations for the biggest sporting event in the Netherlands this year are now in full swing. A short update:

• Various hockey clubs in and around The Hague are organising side events.
• The World Cup Ambassadors are spreading the news around their hockey clubs and over 100 clubs have expressed an interest in organising a World Cup day.
• The official World Cup clothing is now for sale and the webshop with unique World Cup merchandise will go online in March.
• Building work has started on the Greenfields stadium.
• More volunteers have registered to help make the event a huge success.
• Tickets are moving fast and eight days are already sold out.
• In the next months, the World Cup theme song will be launched, the medals for the winners will be struck and work will start on building up the event village Hockey Park.
