The aim of the charity Jeugdsportfonds is to enable as many children as possible to realise their dreams in terms of sport. The fund pays for children from disadvantaged backgrounds to join a sports club. The national hockey association KNHB wants to lend a helping hand and is supporting this good cause up to the 2016 Olympic Games. A high point of this alliance is the campaign around the Rabobank Hockey World Cup – and we are aiming for maximum success. The KNHB and the men and women’s national teams want to ensure that at least 2,014 children can join the sports club of their choice.
Play a sport for €250 a year
As little as €250 is all the Jeugdsportfonds needs to pay for a child to take part in sport for a year. So take up the challenge and join us. ‘Everyone involved in hockey can play a part, whether you are a player, coach, trainer, referee, official, sponsor or supporter,’ says international Robert van der Horst. ‘By working together, we can realise 2,014 children’s dreams. And that is a real sports success.’
